"A few weeks ago we had packed up and were heading home from Acadia National Park. Wife decided she was hungry and so we were looking for a place to stop and eat on the way. She had her heart set on a donut shop but as usual one could not be found when you wanted one. So we saw the sign to Martha's and though it was not a donut place it did serve breakfast and we're glad we stopped. The place was packed - very busy. The wait staff was doing the best they could and a sign was up they were shorthanded. That did not seem to slow service down to us. We were seated and our orders taken. Before we knew it our food was on the table. And surprise, surprise, it was great. From the pancake bits I appropriated off my wife's plate to my omelet with ham. The biscuits and hash was great, the bacon cooked to perfection. They had a master back there in the kitchen who obviously knew their trade. Our waitress was a lady who bustled around and worked several tables each time she came out the back. She was quick and had our orders on the front and was quick with payment on the back side. Overall one of the best places for food we had stopped at in 4,000 miles of cross country driving. Ellsworth is lucky to have Martha's Diner based on our visit."

"A cozy spot to have a very good breakfast. There is plenty of parking. It is cash only. The blueberry pancakes were great and the blueberries were cooked into the pancakes. Really maple syrup. I have the southwest omelet which was okay. The homemade bread and hasbrowns were excellent. Hollandaise sauce was okay. The sausage patties were the highlight of the meal along with the bread. I would choose Martha's over the nearby Governors for breakfast."

"Great breakfast at this classic diner. Had the Crab Benedict and Corned Beef Hash. Service was fast and very friendly. I will be back and recommend to my friends and family."

"We stopped in to Martha's Diner on Route 1 in Ellsworth for breakfast and came away quite satisfied. My Corned Beef Hash Omelet was perfectly tasty. Everything we had was very good. Our server was nice and helpful. Be sure to have cash on hand when you come here because they deal with cards only (there is an ATM a short walk away outside). That said, meals are fairly inexpensive here. The coffee is just okay. Recommended."

"I just love it when I find a new great diner! I had my 1st Rueben today at Martha's Diner and it was SO GOOD! I also had cheesecake with strawberries and coffee which were exceptional. Our server couldn't have been more wonderful "
